This medicine is not intended for use in children and elderly patients. This product is not recommended for use in patients under 18 years of age.

Nexium is the generic version of the heartburn medication Nexium, which was originally developed by AstraZeneca and marketed as Prilosec, which is available as an oral tablet. Before starting treatment with Nexium Control, inform your doctor if you are allergic to this medicine, or if you have any other allergies. In addition, inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. This medication should not be used in or around the breasts or for the treatment of any discharge caused by large amounts of fluid (labored fluid) in the breasts. It should be avoided in children under 12 years of age as this medicine is known to cause breathing problems. It should also be avoided in pregnant women and women of childbearing age as this medicine is known to cause harmful effects to the unborn baby. In addition, this medicine should not be used in women who have ever had a skin allergy to milk or other medicines containing esomeprazole. It may cause skin rash and itching.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems or liver problems. Nexium Control is not recommended for use in children under 12 years of age. If you are of childbearing age or weighs less than 10 kg, your doctor may prescribe you a lower dosage for the short-term treatment of GERD or other conditions caused by this medicine.
When taking this medicine, if the patient experiences vomiting,, diarrhea, stomach pain or discomfort, or a fast or irregular heartbeat, tell your doctor right away.
Taking Nexium Control can cause serious side effects, including hearing loss and loss of vision. A small number of people who are not affected by this problem may experience minor or no changes in vision while taking this medicine. However, some may find that they are able to see and hear things that are not there. Rarely, sudden decrease or loss of vision, called a non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION), has occurred in rare.
