It works by preventing bacteria from making enough proteins that they can spread to the body. This makes the symptoms of bacterial infections worse.
When it is used to reduce the risk of stomach ulcers, it is typically used along with a well-balanced and low-salt diet. It is not recommended for people with a history of asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, or history of gastrointestinal infections. Its recommended dose is Exact 20 mg twice a day for the first 6 months of treatment. It is not recommended for use in children under 8 years of age.
